Yatzy Duel
Yatzy Duel is a game of dice for two players. In a maximum of 3 tosses per round, points are collected using five dice and, taking tactical considerations into account, entered into a table of points. Both players receive the same dice. The player who comes up with the best combinations wins.
Game
Each player gets five dice. Dice are tossed a maximum of three times in each round. After the third toss, at the latest, points have to be entered into a table. After each toss, a player can decide which dice to set aside and which ones to use to toss again. The dice which are to be set aside are put into a tray.
Object
The object of the game is to fill the table with as many points as possible. For the numbers 1 to 6, a player tries to get as many 1s, 2s, 3s to 6s as s/he can. For 3s-and-4s it is also important to get higher numbers. In the case of figures (Full House, Flushes, Yatzy) what counts is not numbers but set points. It helps to enter points tactically, e.g. if you toss three 5s, this toss can be countes as a "three" instead of a toss with three 1s. The player must decide which fields of the table will yield more points for a toss. The player who comes up with combinations which yield the most points wins the game.
Joker: The joker can be used to change a dice three times per game.
Combination values:
1 to 6: Dice with the same number get more points. If a player rolls three „2s“, s/he gets a total of six points in this field.
Bonus: A player receives a bonus for getting 63 or more points in the upper part of the table (1s to 6s). The bonus consists of 35 points, which are added to the total score.
Threes: The same number has to appear on three dice e.g. three times „5“. The score is the sum of the three.
Fours: The same number has to appear on four dice e.g. three times „5“. The score is the sum of the four.
Full house: To get a full house, a player has to roll three dice of the same number and two of another number e.g. three „5s“ and two „3s“. A full house is worth 25 points.
Small flush: A player gets 30 points for rolling four consecutive numbers. The possible tosses are „1“ „2“ „3“ „4“, „2“ „3“ „4“ „5“ or „3“ „4“ „5“ „6“ plus any other number.
Big flush: A player gets 40 points for rolling five consectutive numbers. The possible tosses are „1“„2“„3“„4“„5“ or „2“ „3“ „4“ „5“ „6“.
Yatzy: A player wins a Yatzy if all dice have the same number e.g. five „6s“. This is worth 50 points.
Chance: In this case the numbers are added up. This is used for a „faulty“ toss in order to at least use the numbers rolled.
