Solitaire
Object of the Game
The object of the game is to place 52 cards in the correct order on four piles as quickly as possible. If the player succeeds, then the Patience (general term for Solitaire) „pays off“.
Game start
At the start of the game, 7 piles of cards are already laid out. The first pile consists of one card, the second of two etc. The rest of the cards are hidden in the shoe, only the topmost card faces up. The cards have to be sorted according to the following rules:
- Cards have to be placed in descending order (e.g. nines on tens).
- Colors have to alternate, red and black (e.g. 9 of diamonds on 10 of spades, then 8 of clubs or spades...).
- Aces count as a 1, so the King is the highest card.
In order to reduce the pack of cards, the cards have to be placed on four piles, called foundations, starting with the Aces of Spades, Diamonds, Clubs and Hearts. The remaining cards of the shoe have to be drawn and placed.
A player may only use the topmost card, then the following card. The cards in the shoe can be drawn in rotation again and again, but there are penalty points for each round of drawing!
Points
- Placing a card from a pile onto the playing field: 5 points.
- Placing a card from a pile directly onto the rack: 10 points.
- Turning over a pile: -15 points.
- Putting a card from the rack back onto the playing field: (-5 point).
Game over
The game is over when all 52 cards have been placed onto the four foundations or the player sees no other playing option and quits the game.
