Snooker

Snooker is a variant of billiards for two people. The object is to gain the most points by alternately playing red and „coloured“ balls.

At the start of the game, there are 22 balls on the table, 15 red (one point each), 6 „colored“ (yellow=2 points, green=3 points, brown= 4 points, blue= 5 points, pink= 6 points and black= 7 points) and one white. The opening break is made from the „D“ (a mark on the table in the shape of a D).

Each player is required to play a red ball at the first shot. If it is pocketed without a foul s/he has to call a „colored“ ball, s/he would like to play next. If this also happens without a foul, the player may continue playing for points. If the player commits a foul, it is then the other player’s turn.
After a „colored“ ball is pocketed, it has to be returned to its original position on the table, unlike the red balls. If this is blocked, then the highest possible available position is selected. If this is also not possible, the ball is put near its original position. Once all the red balls have been pocketed, the player begins playing the „colored“ balls according to their point value, from two to seven. Now they are no longer returned to their original position.

Fouls
The player commits a foul if s/he:

If a foul was committed, the opponent gets points and is allowed to continue playing. If the white ball was pocketed during a foul, the opponent can place it on the „D“ and continue playing. If, after an opponent’s foul, a player can no longer play a red ball or, in the final stage of the game, a „colored“ ball, s/he can still continue playing or allow the opponent to continue.
The game is over once all red and „colored“ balls have been pocketed. The player with the most points wins. In case of a draw, the black ball is returned to the table and the white ball is played from the „D“. The next point is the game point.
